El Al will conduct the first commercial flight between Israel and the United Arab Emirates on Monday.

On Monday 31 August, a commercial flight will connect Tel Aviv and Abu Dhabi.
As multiple sources said on Friday, an Israeli-American delegation will fly to the United Arab Emirates on a 'first direct commercial https://air-miles-guide.com/miles/prague/tel-aviv/ flight' between Tel Aviv and Abu Dhabi on Monday. "For the first time, an official Israeli delegation will travel to Abu Dhabi on a direct El Al flight," the carrier's spokesman said on Friday, adding that the flight was scheduled to take place on Monday.


Indeed, on Friday afternoon, the Israel Civil Aviation Authority website displayed an El Al flight LY971 from Tel Aviv to Abu Dhabi on Monday morning (LY971, operated by a Boeing 737-900ER reg0. 4X-EHD, is scheduled to depart Tel Aviv Ben Gourion airport at 10:30 and land at 15:05 in Abu Dhabi). The return flight will be LY972, and by the way, 971 is the UAE telephone country code, 972 is Israel's country code.


The El Al spokesman did not specify the identity of the members of the delegation, but President Donald Trump's White House advisor and son-in-law, Jared Kushner, expected to be in Israel in the coming days, said Thursday that he would participate in the 'first direct commercial flight' between Israel and the United Arab Emirates.


On 13 August, Israel and the United Arab Emirates announced the normalisation of their relations with the project, in particular the operation of direct flights between the two main cities of the Emirates, Tel Aviv and Abu Dhabi or Dubai, and the promotion of tourism between the two countries.


Saudi Arabia, a nation aligned with the United States and similar to the Emirates, but with which Israel has no official ties, is geographically divided between the Emirates and Israel.


Last week, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, "We have already started discussions to open a corridor over Saudi Arabia that will shorten the flight time between Israel and the Emirates."


On Friday, the El Al spokesman did not say if the Tel Aviv-Abu Dhabi flight would cross or circumvent Saudi airspace, but finally received permission to fly over Saudi Arabia from El Al.


Etihad Airways made what is believed to be the first commercial airline flight between the UAE and Israel in May to supply the Palestinians with medical supplies and other cargo. There were no passengers aboard the flight. Etihad delivered a second cargo delivery in June.
