De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Limited has announced the delivery to Ethiopian Airlines of another two Dash 8-400 aircraft, including the airline's 30th Dash 8-400 aircraft milestone. The 30th plane, MSN 4617, is planning to leave, along with MSN 4615, for the Ethiopian hub in Addis Ababa. In March 2010, Ethiopia first welcomed the Dash 8-400 aircraft into its fleet.

More than 90 Dash 8-400 aircraft are included in the fleet of over 155 Dash 8 Series aircraft in Africa. Worldwide, almost 1,300 Dash 8 aircraft have been ordered by more than 155 airlines, leasing companies and other organizations.
The Dash 8 Series aircraft fleet around the globe serves different operating models of airlines, such as low-cost carriers, network connectors and regional point-to-point aircraft. They are also used in hybrid passenger-cargo and all-cargo operations, and many provide an ideal forum for special mission tasks, including firefighting, search and rescue, medical evacuation and coastal surveillance.
De Havilland Canada continues to concentrate on providing outstanding service to Dash 8 aircraft operators and is currently supporting clients who need assistance during the pandemic in upgrading their fleet usage and network recovery models.
